National Anthem Performances for the IHSAA State Championship Events

Performing the National Anthem at an Iowa High School Athletic Association State Championship event is an incredible honor available to Iowa high school musicians. Each year, outstanding musicians are selected through a recorded audition process to represent their schools and communities while opening some of the state’s premier championship events. Selected vocal and instrumental soloists and ensembles perform before thousands of spectators, student-athletes, families, and viewers across Iowa, demonstrating exceptional musical excellence, professionalism, and pride.

Beyond the performance itself, these appearances celebrate the vital role of music education in Iowa schools and provide students with a memorable opportunity to serve as musical ambassadors for their programs. Recorded auditions for the 2026 IHSAA State Football Championships will be solicited during the week of October 26, 2026. Recorded auditions for the 2027 Winter, Spring, and Summer IHSAA Championship events, including Dual Team Wrestling, State Wrestling, State Basketball, Co-Ed State Track Meet, State Soccer, State Baseball, and the Iowa Governor’s Scholar Recognition Ceremony, will be solicited beginning December 1, 2026.
